The Whangamatā Half Marathon (formerly the Run/Walk Festival) has a long tradition in the community. The Lions Club of Whangamatā remains the recipient charity for the event; partnering with local event management company Event Day to deliver the new look Whangamatā Half Marathon, 10km and 5km.
